This is a formal invitation to members of MWELA to attend the Career Forum for Law School Students and Recent J.D. Graduates hosted by the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) on September 25, 2024, from 2:00 - 4:00 pm ET. All law students and recent law graduates from MWELA are welcome to attend. This virtual event will begin with a fireside chat featuring guest speaker Sharon Bowen, Chair of the New York Stock Exchange and former CFTC Commissioner, alongside CFTC Chairman Rostin Behnam. The fireside chat promises to offer unique perspectives on leadership in financial regulation and the evolving challenges in the sector. Following the fireside chat, we will host a panel discussion where attendees will have the opportunity to hear directly from CFTC leaders and attorneys to learn more about attorney career paths at the CFTC, and the impactful legal work being done across the Commission’s divisions and offices. We believe this event will be an invaluable experience for Law School students and recent law graduates, offering them a rare opportunity to learn more about financial regulation and explore potential legal career opportunities within the CFTC. This program is designed to offer recent law school graduates, who have successfully passed the bar, hands-on experience in the regulation of the U.S. derivatives market. The application deadline for the Attorney Honors Program is September 30, 2024. |
