Interstate Discovery for DC Superior Court: Rule 45, the UIDDA, and More

This event is organized by the Bench-Bar Committee of the Metropolitan Washington Employment Lawyers Association, and is co-sponsored by the Trial Lawyers Association of Washington, D.C.

Employment cases in the DMV don't stay neatly within one jurisdiction. Witnesses move. Custodians of records work in Virginia or Maryland. Personnel files, emails, and medical records sit with out-of-state employers, vendors, and health systems. Getting that evidence into your DC Superior Court case — reliably, efficiently, and in admissible form — requires mastering a set of tools that many DMV practitioners have never had to use together. This program does exactly that. We walk through the full arc of interstate discovery practice in DC Superior Court: from issuing and serving the subpoena, to taking the deposition, to getting the records admitted at trial.

This event does not offer CLE credit. Registrants will receive Zoom login details on the day before the event.
