Please join MWELA & VELA for an informal brown bag lunch to review the extensive changes in Virginia employment law coming out of the 2026 legislative session. MWELA & VELA helped support a number of these reforms, and we will walk through key developments including a major update of Virginia’s wage theft laws, expansion of VHRA coverage, new limits on noncompetes, changes to sovereign immunity, minimum wage increases, salary history protections, paid leave laws, heat and prevailing wage measures, and other important bills. We will also briefly discuss issues likely to return in 2027, including retaliation protections, misclassification, and other unfinished priorities.
