Algorithmic Discrimination Algorithmic discrimination is when discriminatory outcomes are caused by software algorithms and/or AI, rather than the direct input or intent of a human being. This panel will analyze the current state of the law, its application to employment discrimination cases, and potential legislation. Webinar will be conducted over Zoom. Advanced registration is required to receive the Zoom link. Panelists: Jenny Yang is a Partner at Outten & Golden, where one of her focuses is on emerging legal issues tied to artificial intelligence and automated decision systems used in employment - areas where technology has the potential to impact civil rights on an unprecedented scale if left unchecked. She previously served as Chair of the EEOC and as Deputy Assistant to President Biden in the White House. Mikael Rojas is a Partner at Outten & Golden, where he focuses on class actions and systemic discrimination cases. He previously served as Senior Counsel to the Assistant Attorney General for the Civil Rights Division of the U.S. Department of Justice. Moderator: Michal Shinnar is Senior Counsel at Joseph, Greenwald & Laake, PA, where she represents employees in individual and class action discrimination and wage cases.
